Mirabilia Network association is extended to 17 Chambers of Commerce, in Matera the first shareholders’ meeting

The number of members of the “Mirabilia Network” association, established in December 2017, has risen to 17 “by Unioncamere Nazionale and by the 13 Chambers of Commerce that promote the places recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site”.

This is what was decided today in Matera – where the Mirabilia network project was born in 2010 – the first assembly of members of the association: the Chamber of Commerce of Benevento, Crotone, Messina and Eastern Sicily also joined Syracuse, Catania and Ragusa.

The new corporate composition includes Uniocamere Nazionale and the Chambers of Commerce of Bari, Benevento, Caserta, Crotone, Genoa, Matera, Messina, Molise, Pavia, Perugia, Potenza, Riviera di Liguria, Sassari, Eastern Sicily, Udine, Venezia Giulia and Verona. The meeting was attended by the General Secretary of the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Giuseppe Tripoli: “The characteristic of Mirabilia – explained Tripoli – is to develop many sectors with balance. Tourism promotion generates an ecosystem between technological know-how and allows the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the cultural and creative sector, as well as tourism and food-processing. The tourism sector generates a chain of 250 billion euros per year. In Italy, we have 53 Unesco sites distributed in 18 regions, and 40% of the cultural and creative enterprises of the country are concentrated in the UNESCO sites “.

Finally, it was highlighted that “from a national network project, Mirabilia has opened up to Europe: relations with Spanish, Greek, Croatian, Bulgarian and Slovenian Chambers of Commerce are active, as well as with ten French Chambers of Commerce for a real development of a European network “.

The rankings of the UNESCO sites most appreciated by international travellers

Angkor Wat in Cambodia is the most popular site in the world by TripAdvisor users: Italy is sixth with the Sassi of Matera (which will be the European Capital of Culture for 2019). In the national area, the ancient tuff wreaths of the Lucan city precede the Duomo di Monreale and the historical centre of Siena. The ratings of UNESCO World Heritage sites most appreciated by international travellers in Italy and around the world – read in a note – are based on the average rating of the evaluations related to UNESCO World Heritage Sites and present on TripAdvisor. The top of the Italian top ten is therefore the Sassi of Matera, the only Italian site awarded in the world rankings. According to the Duomo di Monreale, the historic centre of Siena is a bronze medal. Then the Patriarchal Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta in Aquileia, Val d’Orcia in Tuscany, Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi and Amalfi Coast. The Italian classification is closed with Pompei, the historic centre of Florence and Venice.
