Chieti – Pescara Chamber of Commerce

Among the main objectives of the chamber system of Chieti and Pescara are  valorisation of the heritage of Transhumance, an ancient practice of pastoralism that consists in the seasonal migration of livestock in the Mediterranean and the Alps, inserted from 2019 among the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This tradition also developed in Italy through the grassy streets of the “sheep tracks” that testify, today as yesterday, a balanced relationship between man and nature and a sustainable use of natural resources. The sheep tracks found in the provinces of Chieti and Pescara also fit into the transhumance routes: the wide paths still testify to a balanced relationship between man and nature and a sustainable use of resources.
